Perception, Media & Reality

I conceive and develop text and code — about human perception within cultural systems, often also about media as the technical conditions perception depends on.

About

I create and consult through conceptual and artistic reflection. Collaborations often blur systemic analysis and experimental experience: sensor-based art, philosophy of perception in VR. My work keeps circling perception and sense-making, media systems and cultural theory — with a soft spot for artistic research and the politics of aesthetics.

In my scholarly work, I sit at the intersection of phenomenological research and digital art — where philosophy needs friction with aesthetic material to test its claims. My dissertation was completed at the RITMO Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Rhythm, Time and Motion at the University of Oslo, with a phenomenological study of the unknown in a virtual reality artwork.

“We usually think we cope with new situations by thinking and planning. That, however, is not the whole truth.” — UiO Research News, 2026
